Being Pro-Abortion Is Dangerous To Intellects And Civility

If ever one needs proof that being pro-abortion will strip such an afflicted individual of any semblance of intelligence and/or dignity, they need only examine the reaction of progressives to the GOP convention.

Lifesite News informs us that Ellen Barkin, via Twitter, is cheering on Tropical Storn Isaac, to wit, "C’mon #Isaac! Wash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean! #RNC"  Charming, isn't she?  In September 2004 during a press conference, she told those in attendance that if her daughter were pregnant, "I would take her kicking and screaming to have an abortion." So much for "her body her choice", but knowing the violent nature of abortion (I've seen a number of parents coercing their daughters to go into Planned Parenthood), I'm not the least bit surprised.

Not to be outdone by Hollywood, Code Pink activists showed up to protest, dressed as "vaginas".  You can see them here, decked out in their finery.  It's interesting how Code Pink has morphed throughout the years.  It started out by being an anti-war movement.  Now it's pro-abortion; that is, it's pro-war on helpless babies.

To any folks who think they might want to be "pro-choice" - Please take warning from this video of Code Pink pro-abortion activists.  Do you really want to end up carrying on like these poor deluded gals do in this clip?  I know they think they're inspiring "shock and awe" with their get-up, but in reality all they invoke is "pity and disdain".  Normally I might put up a "vulgarity" warning, but it's so sophomoric that any vulgarity is neutralized.  Click here if you can't see embedded video.

  1. It looks like these gals did what they sang about. At least one of them did. The woman who interrupted Paul Ryan's speech at the RNC last night was carrying a sign that almost certainly said "It's my vagina" as you can see from the camera shots of the woman in the video. Pause it on her and you will see. http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2012/08/29/Protester-Interput-Ryans-RNC-Speech

    1. I noticed that as I was watching on C-Span. Let them carry on, I say. The world can behold how progressivism cripples the minds of those who embrace it.

  2. The only real threat to intellects and civility is listening and reading the stuff on this page! I just do not understand why people who consider themselves as human beings living in the 21st century think and behave worse than the people in the middle-ages. And their world view is acceptable and understandable insofar as they simply did not know it better. But you should! You think and speak about human mankind in such an inhumane way. God gave us the ability to choose freely- the freewill. And people like you dare to overrule this, questioning the highest gift God gave us by blackmailing us, scaring us off, suppressing our right to decide for ourselves. Who are you to do so? Who gave you the right to decide what is good and what is bad, what is right and what is wrong? If you tell us what is right and what is wrong than you level yourself with God and that is digusting. This world could indeed be a better place if we would care for our own misbehavings first before we point our fingers at others. Are you free of sin so you can start throwing stones? I am sure the authors here are mostly men and I dare say that men should keep their mouths shut about women's issues! Same for women who had never experienced the horrible moment when you get told you're pregnant and the father-to-be leaves you alone with this, when you are scared and frightened, when you're economically not in the situation to raise a child on your own (and we all know that the social net of the US is so full of holes like a Swiss cheese as to support a single mom). What you want them to do? To give the baby up for adoption? Would you adopt a child when its mother is pro-life but unable to care for the kid? Would you???? What if she keeps the child, being a full-time worker, the child on its own for most of the time, bad financial situation....how high is the risk that the kid will be lead astray? I know that this is not reality for all unwanted children. And yes it is an act of egoisim to have sex, get pregnangt and decide to not having the baby. But for sex and getting pregnang it needs two. And in the end it is always the woman who has to deal with the situation. For men it's an easy thing. That is the new way of suppressing women: having your fun with them but when it gets serious you beat loose and instead of leaving them their own free will at least, you force your will upon them by taking them the right to choose. I feel nothing but contempt for this!

    1. Anonymous, as you may have gleaned from Mary Ann's reply, I am indeed a woman. We pro-life folks offer real alternatives to women so they don't have to go through the hell which I (like Mary Ann) suspect that you're enduring at this time. I suppose that's why the abortion industry wants to shut down pregnancy centers across the country - because our help is so real that we're cutting into the abortionists' income stream.

You seem to have the clarity to acknowledge that the child is precisely that - a child. You raise a host of questions about the pregnant woman. However, the solution is never to subject the innocent child to the brutal, inhumane murder that is abortion.

It's interesting that you note that the "new way of suppressing women is to have fun with them..force your will upon them by taking (from) them the right to choose." Yep! I see that all the time! Week after week, while standing in front of Planned Parenthood, I see bully "boy friends" drag their teary-eyed girl friends into the abortion mill to have her violated and his own child killed. It's abortion that's the "easy thing" for the feral hedonists that some guys are. So exactly whom does abortion empower? Not the woman.

If you (or anyone reading this) are post-abortive, please go to the site suggested by Mary Ann. Get help and make peace with God.

  3. You are right Anonymous. God gives us free will and we DO have a choice. We can choose to follow God or Satan. It is our choice. We can choose heaven or hell. Our choice. You must not have listened to any of the women who've chosen life for their child despite difficult circumstances. Only last week I talked to a young woman while working at a Pro Life Booth. She looked at the models of the babies at different stages of development in the womb; held them, and told the story of her 7 month old babies father and her parents, who tried to pressure her to kill her baby. "This is the BEST booth", she said.

  4. I'd seen these "Vagina Women" before in a different clip. If they think they are representing the majoirty of women, I think they are very mistaken. Every woman I know would be very sad and grieved just to see someone of our sex behaving in a way that blasphemes us and our Creator.

  5. Anonymous, I'm not sure why you're so angry. How is the conversation on this blog "worse than people in the middle ages?" You say Janet has no right to decide what's right or wrong, but then you immediately condemn her as wrong. Aren't you being inconsistent? Are you angry because she's pro-life and defending the babies? You seem to be saying that the fact that men have always been able to walk away from their responsibilities means women should be equally irresponsible. How does that follow? And is killing the baby better than forming a family through adoption?

Your anger is so palpable and your argument is so over the top that I suspect you are a post aborted women. I met many when I worked in a crisis pregnancy center and often a woman's first reaction was anger against the counselor because our defense of the baby made her feel guilty. But guilt over a wrong committed is healthy. It gives a woman a chance to look at what she did and feel sorrow and regret. And to cry for her baby, bone of her bone and flesh of her flesh. That's the beginning of repentance.

Yes, women with unexpected pregnancies are often frightened, abandoned by the father, economically insecure, and emotionally coerced. Those things can minimize her responsibility but rarely eliminate it. Killing an innocent person is always wrong. But the good news is that there is no such thing as an unforgivable sin. All we have to do is go to God, say "You were right and I was wrong. I'm so sorry, please forgive me." He is waiting with open arms -- just look at the cross. If you are a post aborted woman yourself, have a post aborted friend, or helped someone get an abortion there is a lot of help out there for you. Rachel's Vineyard offers support and healing for post abortion individuals both men and women. You can contact them at http://www.rachelsvineyard.org/
